After a prod from Gabby Panacek, I have decided to try out Ana Lutetia’s Challenge : Armoire Diversity. The rules of the challenge are set out in Ana’s blog thus:
So, the armoire diversity challenge is: dress your female avie with male clothing and accessorize it accordingly with the gender or vice-versa (dress your male avie with female clothing). And… show us the looks you have created. I am really looking forward to see the stuff everyone will come up with.
Not one for shopping for male clothes, I tried to find something that would be not just fun to try, but possibly something I would actually like to wear. So I decided on a costume, and soon my search took me to SF Design, who have a variety of costumes to choose from. Remembering all the fun of the “Talk Like a Pirate Day” earlier this year, I grabbed the “Pirate Captain” complete outfit and TP’d back to my skybox to try on my new outfit.
This certainly is a complete outfit, Frock coat (long or short), Shirt with frill attachment, Hose (Pants) and boots, with optional peg leg. The Frock coat has collar and cuff attachments, and although they are a bit large on my wee avatar, it does give a rather Captain Jack Sparrow (Jonny Depp) look. The boots, being for men, are way too large, but rather fun looking. The lovely thing is that this outfit is transferable, but me thinks I will be holding on to this one for a while.
Just as I was about to pack my new outfit away, I remembered a perfect pair of boots in my inventory to make my own spin on the Pirate Captain outfit. These are the Baroness Black Boot from Digital Dragon Design, the buckles up the front of the boots, and the handy little pockets on the sides make these the ideal boots for any discerning Pirate Captain.

wow! GORGEOUS!
